Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra

Performace in Asteria Theatre - Colorado Mesa University 3/29/2026

This concerto is one of Prokofiev's greatest works, premiered in Chicago in 1921, with the composer at the piano. I love the piece because of the huge range of emotion and color in the piece, as well as the technical and fierceness it demands of the soloist. It a very personal piece for me, since I studied and competed with it at a young age, before my career as a violinist took hold. It is amazing to have the chance to come back to the piano and perform this amazing piece with my good friends at the Grand Junction Symphony, under the direction of Charles Latshaw. This performance is dedicated to my first piano teacher, Janice Balazs.
