Sergei Rachmaninov was one of the world’s greatest pianists, but after I heard a friend play his arrangement of one of the most famous violin pieces by Fritz Kreisler, I decided I had to turn the tables. I have had fun arranging and playing two of Rachmaninov’s piano etudes on the violin. They are challenging, but I think they work well as virtuoso violin pieces
