Five Moods for Oboe and Violin is the second piece I have written to perform in collaboration with my colleague, William Aikens, oboe professor at Colorado Mesa University. Each piece has a very different character, and I explored some unusual techniques, including multi phonics for the oboe, and extensive use of violin harmonics in the last movement.
